Doch muss nicht immer ein echter Infarkt dahinter stecken. Manchmal handelt es sich auch um eine so genannte Stress-Kardiomyopathie, eine Krankheit, die auch als Broken-Heart-Syndrom bezeichnet wird. Das Besondere daran: Die heftige Funktionsstörung des Herzens verschwindet schon nach wenigen Tagen von alleine wieder.
